Statement of Faith

The Ascent Network exists to serve pastors and ministry teams from a foundation of shared faith and biblical conviction.

What follows expresses the beliefs that shape our life, work, and ministry partnerships. We hold these truths with humility, gratitude, and hope in Christ.

Our dependence on Christ and His word are at the center of everything we do.

Our Posture

In essential beliefs – we have unity.

“There is one Body and one Spirit … there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of us all.” Ephesians 4:4–6

In non-essential beliefs – we have liberty.

“Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters… Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls… So then each of us will give an account of himself to God… So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God.” Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22

In all our beliefs – we show love.

“If I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets of God, and if I have the faith that can move mountains—but have no love, I am nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:2

What We Believe

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God—our final guide for faith and life.

God

We believe there is one true God, who has revealed Himself eternally in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Humanity and Sin

We believe men and women are created in the image of God. Because of sin, that image is marred, separating humanity from fellowship with God. Every person stands in need of grace and forgiveness, which God freely offers to all who repent and believe in Jesus Christ. Every person is worthy of compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity.

Salvation

We believe salvation comes by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, was buried, and rose bodily from the grave on the third day. Through His death and resurrection, we are reconciled to God and given eternal life.

The Return of Christ

We believe Jesus Christ will return bodily and visibly to judge the living and the dead and to establish His eternal kingdom.

The Church

We believe the Church—both the universal Body of Christ and the local congregation—is God’s chosen instrument to make disciples and extend His kingdom. Each local church is autonomous, under the headship of Christ, and called to live out the gospel in its community and beyond.

Ordinances

We believe baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the two ordinances given by Jesus—symbols of our identification with Him and reminders of His grace to the Church.

Our Commitments

We walk with pastors, not ahead of them.

We listen before we speak.

We seek understanding before offering guidance.

We commit to serve churches with humility, clarity, and care — always rooted in the authority of Scripture and the hope of the gospel.

We recognize every church is unique. We do not prescribe quick fixes or one-size solutions, but help leaders discern what faithfulness looks like in their context, culture, and calling.

We trust the Spirit of God to do the work of transformation, and we simply come alongside — for the journey, the climb, and the long obedience in the same direction.
